2. Conditions

An effective learning objective describes relevant or important conditions (if any) under which the performance is to occur. A couple of good questions to ask yourself would be:

“What will the learner be allowed to use?
“Under what conditions or constraints do you expect the desired performance to occur?”

Examples:
In class, in a group, after a lecture or demonstration, in a clinical setting…
Given a case study, diagram, clinical problem, a list of…
With (or without) the use of notes/text/references; when provided with certain materials…
On a model, classmate, patient…
